Good Tuesday everyone. Today’s proving to be rather fickle as morning frost turns into fantastic by later this afternoon. Throw in the chance for some strong storms on Wednesday and you have the recipe for a wild few days of weather.
Temps this morning will be in the low and middle 30s and warm into the mid and upper 60s east and mid and upper 70s west. Skies should remain mainly sunny with a few high clouds rolling into town. These clouds are ahead of a cold front that arrives on the scene on Wednesday.
This front will have some instability to work with and may fire up a line of strong or severe thunderstorms. The NAM Model is showing this instability very well…
We will keep an eye on this setup. High temps Wednesday will hit the 70s across the entire state.
Cooler air moves in for Thursday as temps cool into the 60s for highs as sunny skies take over. The sunshine will stick around into Friday as warmer air returns. This warm air really kicks in for the upcoming weekend. The GFS Ensembles Departure shows well above normal temps…
That warm spell could come to a booming end late Sunday into Monday with the possibility of a strong cold front moving in.
Have a great Tuesday and take care.
OK…I just read the our spring break weather is going to be running 10 degrees BELOW normal as the cold air is SUPPOSE!!!! to filter in the second week of April. Now going back to Dec/Jan/Feb the cold that was SUPPOSE to move in never did. I am sure since it is time for the kiddos to be off from school and take vacations it will happen. Oh Yeah, Orlando, FL. looks to be in the upper 40’s for the start of spring break. The weather gods are confused!!
32.5 deg here at 7am!
Been watching the possibility of a severe weather outbreak around the 3rd or 4th of April.. I’m really hoping that it doesn’t happen because these two dates are infamous in weather history. But the modeling is trending toward something big happening around that timeframe.
Low temperature of 33 this morning felt pretty darn cold.
Chris…..reading you twitter feeds. A “Big Blue” sky?? Really? Your new job does not require you to be in the closet when it comes to supporting your CATS. Go ahead and say it with pride…dont hide it in twitter texts. We know you are a ‘Ville hater….just come out and say it. We are your support group!! GO BIG BLUE!!!
As my handle ‘gtwister’ suggests, I like weather. But it’s hoped what wxman says does not pan out. I was in kindergarten during the April 3 1974 tornadoes. I don’t really remember the day itself, just seeing the destruction in Frankfort (Jett) and Richmond. Stuff like that make a deep impression on a young child.
Oh, GO CATS!! Paint New Orleans solid blue!! Would be nice if both the guys and gals bring home NCAA championships. If the women win tonight, they go to their final four in Denver!
wxman are you thinking a big tornado outbreak please say no?
