Good Saturday everyone and thanks for all you do for the blog. Our weekend is looking good in terms of temps as we get in on a summer feel across our region. Temps will warm well into the 80s and we will even throw an increase in humidity your way. That is a good thing considering how nasty and cool the weather has been lately.

The bad news is we will likely fire up the thunderstorm train again this weekend and it should kick into high gear next week.

Some headlines…

– Today will feature temps making a run into the low and mid 80s. Skies should be partly to mostly sunny in the central and east with some clouds and storms in the west.

– The threat for storms will move eastward into Sunday. It won’t be an all day event… but scattered stuff is a good bet.

– Any storm that goes up this weekend can be strong or severe with damaging winds and large hail the main threats. Locally heavy rains will be possible as well.

– The storm threat should be on the increase as we head into the middle of next week as a front moves toward the area. This may have a wave of low pressure along it and this would act to increase the rain and storm action. Severe storms and very heavy rains will be possible during this time.

– High temps through mid week should run into the 80s.

– We are already watching Memorial Day Weekend as that’s always a big forecast. That is still more than a week away… but the atmosphere looks to be in a foul mood that may try to crank out another cut off low pressure in the eastern part of the country. Here is hoping that is not the case and if it is… it stays away from us.

I have you set up to track today’s warm air and the possible storms this weekend…
