Good Sunday afternoon gang. High winds are blowing across the state today and we have heavy rains coming our way over the next few days. We may even throw some strong or severe thunderstorms into the mix for Monday.

Just throwing that out there as the weather across the lower 48 goes back into extreme mode. Btw, there’s a blizzard out west producing 100mph winds!

I don’t know if anyone else has posted this link to the NWS, but it’s about an extreme cold front that blasted the midwest and eastern part if the country in 1911. It’s really interesting so here’s the link.

i read about that, i hope i live to see such a front. thats incredible how in one day the record high and low were both set for so many areas in the u.s.
Isn’t Richie Farmers mustache a predictor of the winter to come? If it gets woolier, the winter will be colder and snowier.

Seriously though, these Fall dynamic systems can and often do become surprises. Keep an eye out for twisters tomorrow and/or straight line wind damage. At least the trees are defoliated which will take a lot of wind load off of them but still…
