Good Tuesday and Merry Christmas Eve! Santa is gearing up for his big visit to Kentucky and, wouldn’t you know it, our snowy cand cold setup is taking a break. This break comes with mild temps with a lot of rain before we switch it back to winter just in time for the New Year.
A few showers are out there early today, but this isn’t very widespread. These showers will diminish through the day with just a stray shower left in the tank into tonight. Here are your Christmas Eve Kentucky Weather radars…
Temps range from the low 40s to low 50s across the state.
Christmas Day features the chance for a shower or two, especially across the northern half of the state. Temps will once again show a big time spread from north to south as we go from the 40s to the 50s.
Thursday is a very mild day ahead of low pressure rolling in for Friday and early Saturday. That brings showers and a few thunderstorms in here and will be followed by another rain and thunderstorm maker coming right behind it later Saturday and Sunday…
This should put down a general 1″-2″ of rain with locally higher amounts…
Another storm system then moves through here by New Year’s Eve and kicks off a pattern change as we begin the first week of 2025. This change means colder weather kicks and will combine with an active southern storm track to bring some fun and games once into the New Year.
This is something the Euro Weeklies have been showing for a long time now and they continue with a full-blown harsh winter weather look. The GFS Extended took a bit, but it has now gone all in with this same pattern.
Here are the Euro Weeklies for week one of January…
The GFS Extended is spot on…
The EURO Weeklies for week two are brutal looking…
The GFS Extended is in lock step..;
As I’ve mentioned, the farther out in time we get, the models become smoothed out. That said, the EURO Weeklies continue with a harsh look for the 3rd week of January…
And so does the GFS Extended…
If you’re a cold and snow lover, the odds are increasing that you’re going to cash in during the month of January.
I’ll throw y’all another update at some point today, so check back.
Make it a great day and take care.
I hope these models fail.
Here’s wishing Everyone a Merry Christmas, and may God Bless throughout the coming New Year.
