Good evening, everyone. I wanted to drop by for a very quick update on this first day of March and Meteorological Spring. Cold winds are cranking as the focus continues to be on the potential for severe storms and high winds in a few days.

The overall specifics of this storm haven’t really changed much at all from what we’ve talked about over the past several days. This is a potent system that brings the threat for strong to severe storms and high winds late Tuesday into early Wednesday with cold air and some snow behind it for Thursday.

The EURO shows our storm very well…

This continues to feature one impressive temperature spread from one side of this storm to the other.  Watch how our temps go from 10 to 20 degrees above normal to 10 to 20 degrees below normal in a short time…

Winds with a setup like this can reach 50mph to 60mph at times, with or without thunderstorms…

The Storm Prediction Center continues to highlight western Kentucky with the best severe weather risk on Tuesday…

That outlook will get much more specific later tonight as we get within the Day 3 window.

We will talk about this and a lot more later tonight. Enjoy this cold evening and take care.
