Good Saturday, everyone. Much better weather is taking control of the weather for the weekend and that’s MUCH needed as many folks continue to put their lives back together after devestating flooding. This calm weather will only take us into Monday when the chance for a few storms shows back up.

Temps today hit the 50s for many under skies becoming mostly sunny. 60 is possible in the west and south.

Temps surge into the 60s for the entire state Sunday as milder winds kick in. There’s even the chance for a 70 in the west. I could see a small shower or storm going up on the leading edge of this mild wind, but most areas stay dry.

Highs surge into the 70s for Monday as a cold front gets set to drop in from the northwest by Monday night. This may bring a broken line of showers and thunderstorms along and ahead of it and some of these may be strong or locally severe.

The Storm Prediction Center shows this potential…

Much colder winds then crash in behind this system with a few chilly showers on Tuesday. The EURO shows this setup well…

Temps should really surge later next week into Easter Weekend as we watch an overall milder pattern taking shape. Can we keep thunderstorms away for Easter Weekend? That may be a bit of a challenge, but we will continue to fine tune that forecast in the coming days.

The EURO Ensembles show more ridging in the eastern half of the country with troughs sweeping into the west…

That setup takes us into the start of the final weekend of the month and you can see how the temps on those same ensembles skew above normal…

The operational EURO shows some pretty big positive temp anomalies during this same time…

Make it a great Saturday and take care.
