Good Thursday, everyone. It’s a much cooler and calmer brand of weather across our region and this looks to hang tough into the Memorial Day Weekend. While the calm may turn a little stormy, I’m not seeing any severe threat as of now.
Temps out there today reach 60-65 in most areas with temps in the south and west doing it a little bit better. Skies will feature some clouds and sun doing battle as a cool west to northwest wind blows. There’s also the chance for a shower or two embedded in that northwest flow.
Friday kicks off the long Memorial Day weekend and we do so with temps in the 60s. A mix of sun and clouds will also be noted with mainly dry skies.
Saturday is the best looking day of the bunch with 65-70 across most of Kentucky.
The threat for showers and storms will work in here from northwest to southeast Saturday night into Sunday. This action likely continues into Memorial Day and Tuesday as low pressure sweeps through the Ohio Valley. Lingering showers hang around after that.
This won’t be all day rains and it appears the greatest concentration of rain will be across southern Kentucky.
Here’s the EURO from Saturday night through next Wednesday…
The EURO has the greatest concentration of rain and that means it also has the coolest weekend temps.
Here’s Saturday…
Sunday and Monday are flat out ugly on the EURO…
Well, that would be downright ugly. If we can somehow get less rain, temps would be all the way into the balmy low to mid 60s. Keep in mind… Normal highs for this weekend are 75-80 degrees.
While we will see much warmer weather coming in by the time we hit June, that doesn’t mean temps all of a sudden surge to true summer. The EURO Weeklies show now through July 5th as featuring below normal temps on the whole…
Again, you will get some very warm stretches, but they will be balanced out by cooler than normal periods.
The same time period on the Weeklies keep showing wetter than normal weather…
I leave you with your Kentucky Weather radars to follow along with any stray shower going up…
Have a great day and take care.

Again, may the EURO weeklies fail miserably.
As long as we have quiet weather, I’m good.
