Good Sunday to one and all. So far, so good as far as this Memorial Day weekend weather is concerned. While a few folks may see some scattered stuff, most of us remain dry through Monday. Beyond that, things get pretty storm in a hurry.
Temps today and Monday range from the upper 60s to low 70s for most of the state with a mix of sun and clouds. A scattered shower or thunderstorm will show up in the west and south especially. You can see this well on the EURO Rainfall Forecast through Monday evening…
Low pressure then slowly rolls through the region from the southwest Tuesday and Wednesday. This brings widespread showers and thunderstorms starting Monday night. Check out this animation going from Monday night through Wednesday evening…
The EURO is spitting out a general 1″-3″ of rain during this time, so we will have to be on guard for local high water issues…
At this point, I’m not expecting severe thunderstorms in our region.
Looking long range, the EURO Weeklies continue to indicate a lot of rain for Kentucky and much of our region through early July. Look how far above normal the averages of the weeklies are during this time…
The latest CFS Seasonal Model for the summer months of June, July and August shows a continuation of above normal rains…
With those kind of rainfall numbers, it’s going to be difficult to get a true hot summer around here. The CFS for the same time shows below normal numbers for the summer…
That doesn’t mean it can get hot at times, it just means the overall average temp for the 3 month period likely comes in cooler than a normal summer around here.
I leave you guys with your Sunday storm tracking tools to follow anything impacting our part of the world…

Make it a great Sunday and take care.

I call BS on the models.
Jeff, here’s an article on model accuracy :

I HOPE this is the case….even if it is a cooler summer, that’s relative… it will still be hot enough for people who like that to be happy. I just hope the tropics don’t cause our weather to turn BORING for 2 months
I hope it’s not.
