Good Friday, everyone. Severe weather seems to show up on Friday’s here in Kentucky and the threat is with us again out there today as a cold front moves in and slows down. This keeps the threat for strong to severe storms going into the first half of the weekend.
The boundary stalling out allows a few waves of low pressure to roll through here, touching off showers and storms. This is NOT widespread action where it rains and rains and rains. It’s one that features a lot of dry times, but storms roll through and put down a lot of water in a short amount of time. That leads to the potential for flash flooding on a local scale.
Scattered storms linger into Sunday as temps come down a bit with another round of showers and storms Monday. That’s ahead of a cold front moving in with drying skies behind it. This animation from the EURO starts this morning and rolls through Tuesday morning…

Possible Watch Areas
Make it a fantastic Friday and take care.
We had 10 inches of rain last month, and it looks like now we didn’t have any. Our soil is very well drain, due to it’s porosity. A very red sandy soil, and rocky due to it’s parent material quarts. High in Magnesium, normal on Iron, but low in Nitrogen. Very acid with a pH reading 4.0 to 5.0.
Hoping we receive some of the predicted rains without the severe weather. Next weeks weather looks delightful with plenty of Sunshine. Will not complain about the rains later in the week.
