Good Sunday to one and all. Scattered showers and storms continue to push across the region today, but the overall severe threat is greatly diminished. That won’t stick around too long as another severe threat rolls in ahead of a cold front arriving on Monday.

Our Sunday starts with pockets of heavy rain producing showers and storms across the eastern half of the state. Local flash flooding may be noted, so keep that in mind.

Skies become partly sunny through the day with just a scattered shower or storm going up. The Storm Prediction Center shows today’s severe threat pretty much bracketing the state…

Highs today hit the mid and upper 70s, giving us another below normal high temperature day.

A fairly strong summer cold front drops in on Monday and produces a line of showers and storms. This line of storms will really crank as it gets into the eastern half of the state Monday afternoon. The future radar from the HRRR shows this well…

With this line intensifying as it moves into eastern Kentucky, the Storm Prediction Center is targeting this area for a little better risk for severe storms on Monday…

The tornado threat isn’t zero, but it remains fairly low…

The threat for damaging winds and large hail are the primary players with this severe weather threat…

VERY pleasant air comes in behind this front with well below normal temperatures settling in through Thursday, at least…

Highs in the 70s with lows in the 50s will be common. As a matter of fact, Tuesday and Wednesday look to be absolutely awesome weather days with dry skies!

As temps try to get back to normal later this week and next weekend, the pattern turns stormy once again. That stormy look would continue through the following week…

We will need to be on guard for severe storms and flash flooding during this time. The lightning forecast from the EURO shows the extent of the stormy potential…

I leave you with your complete storm tracking tools of the day…
