Good Tuesday, everyone. On this day that feels a lot like a Monday, we have some showers and storms going up across the region. This is from a system bringing some much-needed rains to Kentucky over the next few days. It’s also ahead of two big time fall cold fronts blowing in.
Today’s action is rather scattered for much of the state, but there’s likely a greater concentration across areas of southern Kentucky. This continues into Wednesday, as well. Here’s a look at who has the greatest risk of beneficial rains today and Wednesday…
Locally heavy rains may show up in pockets with a few spots getting 1″ or more.
The first of two fall cold fronts arrives in here with a broken line of showers and storms for Thursday with another bringing a similar line on Saturday. The EURO has a good look at these fronts…
So does the AI Euro…
It took a bit, but the GFS is now picking up on some showers and storms from each front…
That first front on Thursday may keep some areas from getting to 70 degrees for a high. This temp animation starts at 8am and goes through 11pm…
Friday’s temps will briefly spike ahead of the next front.
Winds are also going to be a player with 30mph gusts possible with the Thursday front. Gusts Friday surge in from the southwest and may hit 35mph at times. Once the front slams in, cool northwest winds may be just as gusty Friday night and Saturday.
Highs this weekend range from 70-75 in most areas with lows dropping deep into the 40s by Sunday and Monday mornings.
Another rain maker tries to show up a few days later…
The look of the longer range has the EURO AI showing a bowling ball of a trough sweeping east across the country and slowing down near us toward the middle of the month…
The tropics continue to be quiet with only one system of interest being highlighted by the National Hurricane Center…

I leave you with your storm tracking toys for the day…

Make it a terrific Tuesday and take care.

Thanks Chris. Rains Don’t look too Widespread, but every Drop we will take. Maybe this is a Change for the Wetter ? Hoping those High Winds won’t Happen, just Another Cool Change.
