Good evening, everyone. My time tonight is short because today’s been a busy day with the Winter Forecast and the new First Alert Weather Show on WKYT. I’ll share some of that with you later tonight and Friday.
Rain continues tonight through Saturday morning with some locally heavy downpours a good bet. Some thunderstorms will be noted from time to time, especially across the south.
The weekend finds improving conditions later Saturday into Sunday.
The models continue to struggle with the Thanksgiving Week setup. We know we get a system with rain in here late Monday through early Wednesday. We know a cold front works in here on Wednesday with the potential for a wave of low pressure to develop along this into early Thanksgiving Day. That could be followed by an impulse to watch sweeping in behind that.
The GFS from this morning showed the Thanksgiving Morning system with some rain and snow…
The next run of the GFS has that same wave but isn’t as stout…
The Canadian Model has a similar overall look…
So does the Parallel Canadian…
The EURO is starting to see the impulse coming in later Friday…
Cold air crashes in during this time before the southeast ridge fights back for a few days. That will likely set us up with an active storm track on top of us into the first few days of Winter. I can see a scenario with heavy rains/storms to snow.
You can see how that southeast ridge briefly fights back before quickly getting squashed…
I’ll see you guys with a full update tonight. Plus, I’ll have updates on my Meteorologist Chris Bailey Facebook Page
Until then, here are your tracking tools for the day…

Make it a great evening and take care.
