Good Monday folks and welcome to a week of big changes in our overall weather pattern. The warm and sunny atmosphere we’ve had for the past week is history. The pattern is about to become much more active and this means you are going to have to adjust your wardrobe.

Wetter and much cooler weather will be moving in across the state as this week progresses. We have a couple of storms that we will be watching over the next few days. One is a semi tropical system down around Florida that will work northward. The other is a big storm across the plains states. These two show up very well on satellite…

The Florida storm will ride slowly northward into mid week as it works through the Carolinas and into New England. Clouds will increase today and some showers will push in by early Tuesday. The best chance for rains will be across the eastern half of the state and some of these could be locally heavy a times into early Wednesday.

Here are the model rainfall forecasts through early Wednesday…

Temps during this time will run in the 70s today with much cooler air in the eastern half of the state for Tuesday and Wednesday with low and mid 60s for areas dealing with rain. The west will be best in terms of temps.

As this system works to our northeast late Wednesday… another potent system moves in from the west. This storm will work through the northern Ohio Valley and Great Lakes on Thursday. Rain will increase across the entire region and a clap of thunder can’t be ruled out. Winds will become gusty with temps generally in the 60s for highs. Much cooler and windy weather will then follow for Friday into Saturday and the European Model shows this well…

Some leftover showers will be possible on Friday as gusty northwest winds blow. Highs for Friday into Saturday should range from the upper 50s to low 60s for many with slightly cooler air in the north and east.

Temp recover well on Sunday ahead of another front that should surge into town by this time next week. That front will have a push of chilly air behind it and has the hard frost and freeze look to it.

There you go… we are off and running on the new week with a lot of weather changes ahead. I will have another update later today so check back.

Have a wonderful Monday and take care.
