Good Monday, everyone. It’s a week of weather we’ve been needing for a while, but it’s also a week that may cause some issues. Rounds of showers and storms will rumble across the region, putting down quite a bit of rain. The rains may be a bit too much in some areas and a few of the storms may be booming.
Here’s a little preview of what this week of weather holds…
If you’re paying attention, I’m doing a slow rollout of some new stuff here on KWC and via my social media. I think you’ll like where we end up before all is said and done. BTW… I know many of you have given up on commenting because it’s a mess to get logged in. I’m looking to get that fixed in the next little bit.
Ok, now back to the weather.
Rounds of showers and storms will stream across the area today, but this is not going to be all day stuff. The potential is there for a few strong to severe storms going up this afternoon and evening and the Storm Prediction Center continues with the low-end severe storms risk today…

Once again, this isn’t widespread severe weather, but areas of wind damage may show up. That’s the only severe weather threat being highlighted by the Storm Prediction Center today…

The threat for a few more severe storms will be noted on Tuesday, especially across south central Kentucky…

Additional waves of showers and storms then move through here Wednesday and Thursday and some of those may be locally strong or severe. This isn’t a setup where everyone gets a ton of rain at the same time, but it’s a setup that should pretty much soak the entire region before the week is over.
I’ve been showing you what the models have been saying, and they’ve been showing quite a bit of rain. Now we find The Weather Prediction Center forecasting the same for our region…
The Weather Prediction Center is part of NOAA and is essentially the same as the Storm Prediction Center, except they focus more on precipitation, timing and system tracks.
The WPC is highlighting the daily threat for Excessive Rainfall in our part of the world…

I will have updates as needed today and on my Meteorologist Chris Bailey Facebook Page
Until then, here are your storm tracking tools for the day…

Possible Watch Areas
Make it a magnificent Monday and take care.

Happy Fall to everyone.
Happy Fall, Jeff.
I am glad to hear of changes as long as they are improving the blog experience.
I have no trouble logging in, BTW.
I rarely comment because I am not a weather professional. Haha
One change I would like to see is the ability to increase font size.
Thanks for all you do!
The Autumnal Equinox begins today at 2:19 PM, But our Summer weather pattern continues on. Doesn’t look like we will receive much relief from the drought ( should be the big weather story ) in the South Central part of the State. Along and North of the Ohio River will enjoy the widespread rains, as Mother Nature brings much needed rains to all the plant life there. Not expecting the beautiful Fall foliage display that we once had in the past. The leaves on the Red Maples are wilting and turning brown and dropping off (sad.) I wish now that I would have retired to a climate that actually has four seasons. Maybe we will receive one or two inches of Snow this coming Winter, but I don’t expect much more than that in a La Nina Winter. The big Snows will be on the lee shores of the Great Lakes, and I plan to follow that closely on line. Hope there are Snow photos. That would be fun to see.
Today’s breakdown was TERRIBLE, all you did was post color pictures? You didn’t break down what is showing up all week into next week? The reason I read your weather blog is because is used to be so concise…..not anymore. UGGGG
Lousy take
No it’s not.
Talking about Dash
You are just a miserable person!
No I’am not !
Correction on the above : no apostrophe in I am.
Dash, I apologise for the rude comments to your post. Everyone is entitle to his or her opinion.
Schroeder, nobody is calling you rude. They are talking about that other person up there.
The only rude person I know on here is Jeff, and that’s because he hates the cold weather and snow. 😉
Thank goodness some kind of change. Late summer is usually the most boring weather and this year was the worst for that. Today is the first day of Autumn and boom (it changes).
I wondered why we lost a lot of the commentors. The site logs me in fine. I remember there were issues at first and occasionally it will want me to verify by sending an email, which half the time never shows up. And other times when it ask me to verify, If I ignore that error message and click log in again, it will log me in. So yea, there are bugs. One of the most annoying bugs is the filter. I mean you can even type the word g-r-a-s-s because that word contains a bad word within it.. So dumb.. so just try to replace that word with lawn (the key is remembering to do it)… There may be other words that do this, but that one word has made my posts not go through many times and I just end up not posting again.
When I first started posting on this blog, there were many more commentators. A lot of them didn’t like my post, and I was called a troll. Very hurtful, I just didn’t fit in. Here’s the link to April 9th, 2017:

Here’s my rain fall total for today 0.00. ” An 80 % chance of rain was forecast for today. I won’t believe in any weather forecast ever again.
