Good Sunday to one and all. We are STILL dealing with some action from the stubborn upper level low that’s been spinning around here for the past week. The new week ahead is about to bring some changes… For the good and for the bad.
Temperatures today will range from the upper 60s to low 70s for much of the region, and there is the chance for a scattered shower or thunderstorm going up.
Much milder air moves in early next week with temps hitting the 70s, and could push 80 by the middle of the week. That’s when we get a strong southwesterly wind ahead of a cold front slated to arrive by Friday or Saturday.
Much of what happens will be directly impacted by where Hurricane Matthew goes.

The Canadian Model keeps it well off the east coast with a couple of cold fronts pressing into our region. Here’s the first one on Thursday…
The second front arrives Friday with Matthew well out of the picture…
The GFS is farther east than some of its earlier runs, but keeps Matthew as a threat along the Carolina coast…
It has the trough catching Matthew, but east of New England…
The European Model keeps showing something different with each run. The new run is similar to the GFS with a slow-moving hurricane pounding the Carolinas…
No matter which model you look at, they all bring a blast of chill in here next weekend. Some try to deliver the first 30s of the season…

That all depends on what ultimately happens to Matthew, and that’s a long way from being known.
