Good Sunday, everybody. We have a typical October chill in the bluegrass air as our dry weather train rolls on. The tenth month of the year is normally a dry one, but it’s also one featuring lots of ups and downs in the temperature department. That’s exactly what we are facing in the coming days.

Temps this morning start in the low 40s for many, but some upper 30s will be possible in the sheltered valleys. Sunny skies will boost temps into the 60s this afternoon. Enjoy!

A kiss of patchy frost is possible by Monday morning with upper 30s and low 40s. The overall weather for Monday looks a lot like today.

Tuesday will feature low 70s for much of the state as winds switch around to the west and southwest. This is ahead of a decent little cold front moving in Wednesday night and Thursday…

A gusty band of showers and some thunder will work through here. Highs on Thursday may not stray too far from the upper 50s and low 60s…

If the winds can diminish, upper 30s will be possible Friday morning. Highs on Friday should be in the mid and upper 60s with milder air to follow by the weekend. That milder air may be introduced by some showers and storms…

The transition toward Winter is fully underway across North America. We are seeing some decent buildup of early season snow across Canada, and that should really ramp up in the coming weeks. With blocking showing up, expect the pattern across the United States to grow more active and to tap some cold air.

The GFS has been advertising this for a while…

Check out the pattern trying to realign itself at this same time…

Setups like this can lead to very early season fun and games across the country. Will that include our part of this great land? Time will tell.

Have a great Sunday and take care.
