Good Thursday to one and all. We are issuing a full blown Spring Fever ALERT for the entire region. This will start on Friday and run through all of next week. What? You thought we only issue Winter Storm Alerts around here? 🙂 Well, we have yet to have a Threat this winter, let alone an Alert. I’m more than cool with that.
Highs today will warm into the upper 40s across the east and into the low 50s west. Skies stay partly to mostly sunny with gusty winds kicking in.
Readings for Friday should warm toward the low 60s with mostly sunny sky. That gets our weekend off and running on a gorgeous note.
The only problem with the forecast comes later Saturday into Saturday night. That’s when a weak system throws some showers our way…
Sunday afternoon will find skies breaking out into sunshine as temps surge into the 65-70 degree range for most. That sets the stage for any one day to reach the 70s next week. There is also the chance for a shower or thunderstorm to develop by the middle of the week…
A much stronger system then slowly works our way by next weekend. Temps ahead of this storm can get a little crazy on a strong southwesterly flow. That system then looks to crush our spring run…
I will update things later today. Make it a good one and take care.
Did you not allude to an earlier Spring possibility in your Winter outlook?
How can he change what is on the calendar?
Speculating, on the latest weather maps I’ve been studying. I still see very little change in the over all weather pattern we have experience this winter. No upper level high pressure system, which is stationary to bring above normal temperatures in the coming days. The westerlies and sometimes Northwest winds aloft are shearing off all systems. If the westerlies aloft would happen to slow down this would allow storm development.
Would you please please stop with your overuse of the word speculating.
Would you please stop asking him to stop using the word speculating
Would you please stop asking him to stop asking him to stop using the word speculating?
😀
I agree with you Lynn. When I look at a QPF 7 day total map and see the state of California STILL getting forecast to be inundated with rain (like they have all of Jan and so far Feb), things will not change for us or this part of the country.
Get out and enjoy the weekend and next week. This almost gets us all the way to March without any prolonged stretch of cold.
I like a good snow, but have really enjoyed our Florida type winter. Spring will win out like it always does. Average highs get comfortable around this time of year and even a below average day is usually not too hadm
The ones on here that play the role of “blog police” crack me up LOL. Wonder if they were the tattle tails in school? LOL. Great spring like weekend coming up folks!!
This
Jim B and his sly comments….. ugh does it ever stop?
Why thank you for the compliment, but sly is probably not appropriate for my last post. It was pretty direct. LOL. As direct, as the direct shot of spring time this weekend!!!LOL
You need a beer lol.
Hamlin, if the beer reference was directed towards me. I need something way stronger than a beer more like 2 or 3 shots. To deal with 3 or 4 of these clown bloggers.
The made for TV movie for this Kentucky winter:
The Winter That Never Was!
Starring Honey Boo Boo
Is that a Lifetime or a Hallmark movie? lol 🙂
Probably Lifetime, since they roll like Honey Boo Boo 😉 Very low bar.
hahahaha
Can we stop with the blog police and those who police the blog police and just be thankful for the existence of this site and thankful that Kentucky isn’t experiencing the extreme winter that the NW & NE have had so far?? Is that too much to ask?
Virgil, some people ain’t got nothing to do but abuse the blog post. They got no life!!!
You’re under arrest. Just kiddin’! 😉
