Good Friday to one and all. We have a lot of rain moving into the region over the next few days. This comes via an area of low pressure working slowly across the region. Much cooler temps will accompany this system, but a MAJOR surge in temps will follow into next week.
A cold front has put the brakes on across the state today, allowing for additional showers and storms to develop. This action will increase as the day wears on with quite the temps swing setting up from north to south. A few of the storms in the south may be strong…
Additional rounds of heavy rain and storms will then swing eastward tonight through Saturday. Rain totals through the weekend may average from 1″-3″…
Local high water issues are a possibility.
The showers will continue into Sunday, but some breaks in the clouds and rain may appear in the west and far north. This shows up well on the forecast high temp map…
Things will turn warm very quickly early next week as temps head toward the low 80s. A few thunderstorms will then roll in here toward the middle of the week, but a hot pattern looks to take over by the end of the week into next weekend…
Folks, I could see temps flirting with 90 degrees in this kind of setup! That setup will also fire up thunderstorms and potential severe weather from the plains into our region…
Have a great Friday and take care.
Bring it on! 😉
No Thanks! Too early for that kind of heat.
Im ready! Since I can’t go to Florida, I have no problem seeing Florida Weather here!
I can’t remember who it was on here but someone said back in late Feb when it first hit 80 that we would likely hit 90 in April. Well, they may be right as some may see it next week. Harlan is forecasted for upper 80s three days in a roll for the valley and looks warmer as we get closer!
Probably Schroeder…
Okay…really…I have been posting on here at least weekly since 2013 and following the blog since it’s inception in 2011…not seen a lot of posts from a “Space Ghost” or whatever you are before…new troll?
If you are not calling me Schroeder then I apologize…if you were only answering my question. I think I took your response the wrong way. I just don’t want to be called a troll…sorry if that was not what you meant.
Nope, didn’t mean it that way. Just making a joke given the current drama. BTW, I’ve followed C.B.’s blog for well over ten years which includes his time at WSAZ. I just don’t post that often…. sorry for the confusion.
No problem…someone called me Schroeder recently and I was brain dead at work on a lunch break today and misread too quickly…I truly apologize for my mistake. I actually recall you posting before on here now that my heads clear!
I just hope we stay troll free moving forward after all the craziness lately.
“…it’s inception in 2011”.
You’re adorable.

And for the record, the blog started as a piece of hosted WKYT content, predating it’s current domain residences listed above.
Sorry, I was thinking of the archived dates for Chris Bailey’s Kentucky Weather All things Meteorlogical: Lexington and Beyond site in my mind earlier today. Yes 2008 is correct…was not trying to be adorable and rude…just a stupid mistake on my part.
Yes this Blog easily goes back to at least 2008
After reviewing the loop radar tool for 3 hrs straight, I’m gonna make the prediction that it will in fact rain somewhere in the state of KY today at sometime or another.
I enjoy reading your blogs. Please don’t refer to me as being an internet troll, which I’am not. I thought, I could comment on the weather, but that didn’t go very well. I apologize if I disrupted your blogging. Have a great Saturday.
