Good Friday, folks. This first weekend of August is here and we look to be tracking more rounds of showers and storms. This action will be fairly scattered today, but should pick up the pace some as we roll through Saturday and Sunday.
I’m sure that’s exactly what you wanted to hear! 🙁
Let’s begin with where we are today and roll forward. Highs on this Friday will be in the 80s for the entire region. A storm or two will be noted throughout the day… Yama, Yada, Yada.
Track whatever is out there…
As mentioned, the showers and storms do increase as we head into the weekend, but it’s not close to being a washout. Here are the GFS rain numbers through Sunday night…
Any shower or storm action can put down enough rain to cause some local flooding issues to develop. Many areas picked up a lot of rain over the past week, so a cloudburst or two could cause issues.
Temps may come down some from where we are today.
The numbers rebound early next week, but a potent system diving in from the northwest may cause a few issues…
Strong storms and torrential rains will be possible during this time. All of this is coming from a another deep trough digging into the eastern half of the country…
Have a fantastic Friday and take care.
Can’t understand why everyone complains about the rain yes I farm for a living but without that wonderful rain we would be in drought and it would be about a110 outside then everyone would be complaining about how hot and dry it is my grandfather use to say I’d rather farm around the rain than farm without it whole lotta truth in that I’m enjoying in my book a very nice summer 🙂
At a local level, some got a lot of rain recently, but, it is all about location, location, location . The models have been overdoing the widespread rain lately and really been fair in my part of the state, still above average for the year on rain though.
We do not need nearly as much rain as you think.
All I want is cool air.
