Good Tuesday, everyone. It’s another chilly day across the Commonwealth, but a case of spring fever is about to take hold for the rest of the week. This is when temps finally take off, making it feel more like late May for a couple days. Our payback could mean some big storms by the weekend.
In the short-term, temps today are upper 40s and low 50s. Winds are gusty with a mix of sun and clouds showing up. There’s also a small threat for a shower…
The 70s are coming for Thursday and Friday, with an 80 degree temp possible to end the week…
Skies will stay mainly sunny, with strong southwesterly winds taking control.
A strong storm system then revs up and rolls our way for Saturday and Sunday, bringing the potential for strong to severe storms and heavy rains. This comes courtesy of a slow-moving upper level system rolling across the Ohio Valley. The GFS model is a little faster than other models with this…
The Canadian matches the European Model in being slower and more potent…
There is also the chance for some backlash flakes by early next week.
High winds may become a big player and you can see the European Model showing some big gusts with a line of storms working in…
As mentioned, once this system rolls through, temps drop like a rock. Readings by Monday may struggle to get much past 40 degrees. That doesn’t last long, though, as another big sure of mild air pushes in ahead of the next storm system.
It’s going to be that kind of weather for the rest of April. I will hook you up with another update later today, so check back. Make it a good one and take care.
Thanks Chris for the update. I hope the severe storms stay away because my house is not grounded. An electrician is coming on Friday the thirteenth to put in two copper electrodes and bring my electrical system back up to code. looking forward to the warmer spring temperatures by the end of the week. Have a great day everyone.
Thanks Chris. Warmer temps and a little sunshine really sounds good! And this time of year, one never knows what the weather might bring. So I will take what we can get and enjoy it! Nothing we can do a it it anyway. Have a great Tuesday wveryone
And now, Iām Elmer Fudd…..
As John Coffee would say from The Green Mile, “Im Tired Boss”….Im tired of seeing snow….Feeling Cold….
Same here, Virgil. My thinking is Summer will be super hot to balance the cold.
If it makes you feel any better I believe it was Denton Texas this past Sunday had a morning low of 39 degrees. At the end of the day on Sunday Denton Texas had a record high of 97 degrees. 58 degree temperature swing, pretty impressive!
I might be wrong on the city it was either Denton Texas or Midland Texas it was one of the two.
I could handle that. š
So we’ve booked our first camping trip this weekend? We’re in a popup, we have canvas ends and they’re waterproofed but….should we cancel?
Saturday looks rainy but warm and Sunday looks rainy and fairly cold not the greatest of weekends. Ultimately the decision is completely up to you.
