Good Saturday to one and all. Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue to march across the bluegrass state today. This action is ahead of a cold front that slowly presses to our east later Sunday. One would assume much cooler air moves in behind it. One would be wrong to assume that as summer hangs on.

Though, some bigger changes continue to show up by next weekend. But, will they actually happen this go around? Hmm

Let’s start with today and work ahead. Scattered storms can put down very heavy rains and contain a lot of lightning. It’s not going to rain all day, and you will likely see periods of hazy sun between the action. Similar conditions may be noted on Sunday, but the east can see much more widespread stuff than the rest of the state.

Track today’s scattered storms…

Monday’s weather actually looks pretty darn good before summer really kicks back in. Readings for the middle and end of next week should be deep into the 80s each day.

That continues into the start of next weekend, but I’m seeing growing signs of a significant trough diving into the central and eastern parts of the country. Some models are REALLY going crazy with this…

The operational models actually have some support from the Ensembles this time…

Check out the temperature contrast showing up on some recent runs…

Maybe a little flare up in our fall weather severe season?

We also find the first 30s of the season showing up on the GFS for early the following week…

By the way, some winter is still there on the CFS snow forecast through Halloween…
