A Little Snow Before Issues Next Week

Good Thursday, everyone. Winter weather continues to show up over the next few days, but it’s nothing we can’t handle. The one thing we may have some issues with is a lot of rain and even the chance for strong storms as we head into next week.

Our day starts with snow showers winding down across the state, but they will leave behind some very light accumulations. A few snow squalls are even covering roads, so we are likely to see a few delays and cancellations.

Temps recover into the 30s this afternoon with skies becoming partly sunny.

Our Friday light snow makers are just that… Light. The timing on them may have a morning impact then one in the evening. The  best chance appears to be across the southern and southeastern parts of the state…

Saturday starts cold with flurries ending in the east. By the afternoon, it’s mostly sunny with temps in the upper 30s to low 40s.

March arrives like a glorious lamb on Sunday with plenty of sun and temps rebounding into the 60s…

Mild temps will continue through the middle of next week, but things are looking to turn very stormy. As a matter of fact, it’s a pattern that can deliver rounds of strong storms and heavy rain to  most of our region…

That’s a potent looking setup that can see our temps hitting 70 ahead of the system and then 20s behind it. That chill shouldn’t last long with a bigger warm up coming right after that.

I will have your usual updates later in the day. Until then, here are your early day flake trackers…

Flake tracker-lol! Good one. Just wanted one amazing snowstorm this winter. Just one. Winter, you need to repeat for a better grade.

Not even a dusting in downtown Barbourville. I wasn’t expecting much but some areas that were lower on the snow maps ended up at least with a little white on the ground. I’m ready for this non-winter to be over and move on to spring. Meteorological spring in just a few days and a little over a week until DST. RIP winter, the rain train is back in town..
