Good evening, gang. I wanted to drop by for a brief update on the potential cold shot coming our way in about a week. Of course, that’s Halloween, so the forecast carries a little more weight than normal.
The models continue to advertise a big dip in the jet stream, but vary from run to run on how strong of a system we will be dealing with. The GFS is back on board for a healthy blast of cold…
A full update comes your way tonight. See ya then.
Take care.
Chris, just noticing some major news networks posting thoughts on winter, talking about El Nino taking over and small chances of much snow and cold for our part of the world. I know that you give very little attention to “the others,” but I wonder if you could speak to your “less scientifically savvy” viewers, teaching how to read short and long range models and develop a hypothesis, rather than jumping on a bandwagon. Whatever the weather brings, it’s nice to know how to, not only understand your findings and analysis, but to be able to have an educated guess of our own. Thanks for all you do. Loved the sunshine today while jumping in leaf piles with the kids. Have a great night.
As I understand, a weak el Nino is when we tend to have more snow here.
