Good Thursday gang! Showers and thunderstorms will once again be the main weather maker of the day across the state. Many of these storms will continue to produce torrential rains which can cause local flooding problems and that is something we will be watching for into this evening.
Today should be a little different from the past few though as the storms may try to get going earlier than what we have been seeing. There is also a slightly better shot that a few of these storms can become severe with damaging winds being the main threat.
The radars have been getting a work out over the past several days and today will be no different…
The areas to really watch for flooding will be the ones that have been hit by heavy rains already this week. I would anticipate Flash Flood Watches going back up for some folks. Parts of northeastern Kentucky around the Ashland area are under a watch already through Thursday Night.
I mentioned the chance for some isolated severe weather and here is the latest severe storms threat map from the Storm Prediction Center…
Headline time for the rest of my weather thoughts…
1. Isolated showers or storms may linger into Friday… especially across the south.
2. The weekend is likely to feature a couple rounds of showers and storms diving in from the northwest. Could this be a severe weather threat? Possibly.
3. I am not seeing much of a break from this overall pattern through next week or even the week after!
4. I continue to wait for a break in the action to post some summer thoughts, but Maw Nature won’t cut a weather dude any slack!! ![]()
5. I will say this… El Nino is coming so run for your lives! Well… it won’t actually be that bad.
It could very well set us up for one heck of a winter my friends! Wait… a winter thought in May? That is just wrong!!!
I will drop by for updates as needed and you can follow me on Twitter that appears in the top right of this blog. I even give you free text messages! Well, Twitter gives them to you for free… I just do the Typing! ![]()
Have a great day and take care.

Morning gang, hopefully after a 2 wk. period of pure misery, I hope to be getting back on track. I kinda had a 1-2 punch. first the back surgery, then I ended up with major acid reflux due to the surgery that caused my esophogus to close, so I had to to have out patient surgery on that to get it stretched…OUCHY!!!.. actually I was asleep so I dont remember. but im feeling much better and can eat again after no food for 7 days and 20 lbs. lighter…
Pat…how is your husband doing???
everyone have a great day!!
Tim! It is GREAT to hear from you, my friend! Glad to know that things went well overall, even though there was that hitch with the reflux. Glad to hear you are doing better!
Chris, we got a little rain last night overnight, but whereever it went, it sure did cool off the house quite a bit! It was actually comfortable, which is good.
I do not look forwawrd to storms, but, IF they come, hopefully it will be earlier in the day and evening, instead of nighttime.
Pat, how are things this morning with your husband? You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Have a good day, everyone. Chris, I know we will all be checking in frequently throughout the day, either here or on twitter, for updates! 😉
