Good Friday, everyone. Our long holiday weekend is kicking off in toasty fashion with some of the hottest weather of the entire year upon us. Of course, this summer was a bummer for hot weather lovers, but Mother Nature is making it up to you for a bit. While we sweat now, cooler changes show up next week.
Scattered storms will develop during the afternoon and evening hours over the next several days. That doesn’t mean it will rain where you live, but the chance is certainly there. In between the boomers, steam rules the weather world.
A cold front slowly, but surely, moves our way early next week. This will give us a bit of an increase in storms later Tuesday with the greatest chance showing up by Wednesday and Thursday…
Some beneficial rains would be possible in the scenario as low pressure works across the region. Temps come down to normal or a bit below normal behind that…
The pattern then tries to throw a deeper trough our way next weekend into early the following week. This is a very active system showing up on the models…
As we sweat it out, let’s track a few storms on this Friday…
Have a great day and take care.
Thanks Chris. What kind of effect do you think the El nino will have in the upcoming winter?
Wild to go all that time with rain and now nothing in over three weeks. Rain dome? I kid 🙂
Seriously though, the clouds just keep teasing and raining to the north, south, east and west. Looks like a diagonal swath of drought zone over our fine state. Seems no in between. Lost of rain or lots of nothing. Kentucky weather at it’s finest 🙂
No measurable rain at Louisville Int’l for 14 days…soon to be 15 if nothing happens the rest of the evening. I actually have had a little bit of rain during that time, but it has been 11 consecutive dry days now for me.
The dewpoint readings have been lower thanks to the dry ground.
September always has boring weather. At least we don’t have to mow.
Not exactly exciting weather around our area this time of year, but the tropics sure have not been dull. Especially in the Pacific….just ask Hawaii. Fortunate that there has been relatively miminal human impacts so far this tropical season, one of the few exceptions being the deadly flash flooding in Dominica.
