Good evening, gang. We have another gorgeous day wrapping up across our part of the world. Now, it’s time to get ready for another wild weather ride as we open the month of March.
Showers and thunderstorms develop across western Kentucky and March eastward through the day and into the evening…
Some of those storms could be strong or even severe. High winds will be the main player to watch out for.
Temps will spike into the 60s across central and eastern Kentucky. Those numbers will then absolutely tank as the front sweeps through. A 30-35 degree temp drop is coming in just a matter of hours. Some light snow and flurries will then start to fly.
Wednesday dries out and is seasonally cold with upper 30s and 40s.
Another system brings some rain and a mix of rain and snow Thursday and Thursday night. Blah.
One more little system dives in with a small shower chance on Saturday. From there, spring gets ready to rumble! Temps early next week head deep into the 70s on a gusty southwesterly wind. This setup…
Can bring some nasty rounds of storms from the plains states into our region. See below…
Enjoy the evening and take care.
What about this? Louisville, Lexington and Bowling Green are all going down in the record books as Top 10 warmest winters on record.

December must have REALLY skewed the numbers in our favor…oh what a wonderful month it was.
Winter is done. Had a couple of nice snows for many parts of the state, but overall outside of a couple of weeks ago, many days didn’t have flakes. I guess the models didn’t do too bad this year because it seems like we didn’t get as many week out misses as we had in the past. Looking forward to warmer days ahead.
Im getting giddy….Kinda like a kid the week before Christmas…. Bring on the 70+ degree warmth!!
Looks like the SPC has completely removed Kentucky from the Slight risk of Severe Thunderstorms and replaced it with a Marginal risk…
