Good Monday, everyone. Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are getting ready to target the Ohio Valley, and that could mean some very active days ahead for Kentucky. This happens as heat makes another run at us from the west.
Let’s start with today and roll ahead. Highs will range from the mid and upper 80s east to low 90s in the west. Humidity levels continue to increase as winds become gusty. Scattered showers and storms may develop as the day goes on…
A strong cold front moves in on Tuesday with a line of strong to severe thunderstorms. That front puts the brakes on with clusters of thunderstorms developing to our northwest then diving into our region…
Depending on exactly where that corridor sets up, severe weather and local high water issues could be possible across Kentucky. That’s something to watch closely in the coming days.
After the storms blow through, the heat makes another run at us by next weekend, but a cold front tries to cut it off at the pass…
The pattern may then keep hold that front up on top of our region, with more storms developing shortly thereafter…
The end of the medium range forecast models now gets into the 4th of July holiday. Obviously, these solutions aren’t very reliable, but can be interesting to look at. The GFS has been giving the eastern part of the country some wild looks for the 4th…
