Good Saturday to one and all. We are riding into the weekend on a pleasant note, but don’t let the nice start fool you. Showers and thunderstorms will be on the increase later today and this action will really ramp up later tonight into Mom’s big day. Don’t shoot me… I’m just the messenger in all this. 🙂
We will have a mix of sun and clouds around today as temps warm well into the mid and upper 70s. A southwesterly wind will usher an increase in moisture around here and this means some scattered showers and storms to go up before the day is over. Here’s your regional radar to follow the action…
The rain and storms will really increase overnight into Sunday. Rain will likely be heavy at times and some areas can pick up an inch or two of rain through early Monday. The models are in good agreement…
Scattered showers and storms may hang tough into Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Temps through the period won’t stray too much from normal.
Have a great Saturday and take care.
Thanks for the update, Chris. Am hoping that the rain has some breaks in it on Sunday. I am getting the best present a mother could get. My youngest daughter will be bringing home our first grandchild on Mother’s Day! She was born Friday morning, and is beautiful! Want to get her into the house dry, if possible! 😉
Also hope that what I am seeing on radar now is virga, as we need to try to get the yard mowed before the rains come.
I have really enjoyed the weather over the past few days, so I vote for more of that! (maybe temps just nudging into the mid 70s though)
Have a great day, everyone, and thanks again Chris.

I encourage everyone to join the Skywarn Forum, it is a great place for amateur radio operators and storm spotters to hangout and discuss weather and chasing/spotting!
Thanks for the update Chris!
You do not have to be either of those though.
My mom in Houston said areas just to the south of her got 10 inches of rain in a very short amount of time. She got around 2 inches. I told her “my” weatherman is watching the rain in Texas and how it might affect us since he thinks they *might* have a soggy summer. She said the local mets are saying hot and dry — the same as always.
Well, as least part of this weekend was dry anyway. But we could use some more rain. Not looking forward to the oppressive summer heat and humidity, so I took extra delight cracking open the windows the last few days. At night, the cool air is heavenly sleeping weather.
