Good Thursday everyone. The title of this post says it all… does it get any better than the weather we have had this week? Temps have been running on the pleasant side of things and that trend has another day left in the tank before we change the pattern around a bit. If you have been searching for summer… look no further than the weekend forecast.

Highs across much of central and eastern Kentucky will run in the upper 70s today under mostly sunny skies. The west will warm toward the lower 80s on what is another gorgeous day.

Temps will begin to warm on Friday and we may have our first “normal” day in a while. Highs in the low 80s will be common across the state as we hang on to the sunny skies.

The weekend thermometers will start to warm it up and even flirt with hot. Highs in the upper 80s will be likely and a few spots may tickle 90 degrees. I’m looking at you western Kentucky. We will also see an increase in humidity levels and that may lead to a storm or two floating around by Sunday.

A much better chance for showers and storms will set up around here by the first part of the new week. This happens as juicy air flows northward out of the Gulf and is intercepted by a cold front working in from the northwest. The European Model shows the setup…

The heat gets kicked back into the western part of the country as our temps head toward the normal category or even a bit below.

Looking down the road… the second half of June is going to try to get steamy.

Enjoy your Thursday and take care.
