Good Tuesday everyone and thanks for dropping by KWC. Our temperature change from Sunday to Monday was beyond dramatic as some areas went from the 100s to the upper 70s. This cooler weather is going to hang around for a while and it looks to bring a running mate to the pattern change party. All signs point toward a much wetter period taking shape this week into next week and that is EXACTLY what we need. Now, let’s sit back and see how if it really plays out.

The cold front that swept through here Sunday night has stalled out across the Tennessee Valley. This means the best threat for showers and storms today into Wednesday will be across the southern half of the state. Isolated stuff will be possible farther north. Temps today and tomorrow will range from the low and mid 80s for areas getting in on some clouds and rain to the upper 80s to around 90 for those who don’t.

The boundary to our south is likely to slowly drift northward into Kentucky by Thursday and Friday. Ripples of low pressure will work eastward along this front and help enhance the shower and storm action. The models have been all over this for a while and the boys and girls from the HPC have jumped on board. Here’s their latest rainfall forecast through Saturday…

If the GFS is to be believed… there could be a lot more to come. Check out the last few runs of the model for the next two weeks…

While I never take those kind of numbers to heart… it would be fair to assume the models are suggesting a much wetter and stormier pattern around here. Let’s see how it plays out.

Let’s get you set to track today’s action…

Have a great Tuesday and take care.
