Good Wednesday everyone. Our stormy pattern is off and running as rounds of boomers take aim at the bluegrass state. The first cluster was a doozy on Tuesday and similar storms will be likely today and through the next few days. These storms may end up causing some issues… especially in the heavy rain department.

These storms are firing along a nearly stationary boundary that’s draped from west to east across the lower Ohio Valley. Cool air to the north is bumping up against warm, moist air to the south of the front and that is helping to fuel the storms. Many areas picked up 1″-2″ on Wednesday and each storm complex can drop similar totals as they roll through here. If the same areas get in on repeat activity, flooding will become an issue.

We will also have to keep a close eye on the possibility of strong or severe storms. There’s enough instability present to get these bad boys to crank up and that’s something I will be monitoring.

I have you all set to track today’s storms…
