Good afternoon, everyone. I wanted to drop by for a quickie update on the taste of September settling into the region. This is a pattern we have yapped about for a while, so it’s good to see Mother Nature delivering the goods.

It’s comfy today with a big blue sky for many folks. Our next front works in here later tonight and Tuesday, bringing a round of showers and storms. At the same time the front moves in, low pressure develops along the boundary and keeps the shower chance into Wednesday across the south and southeast.

The models are picking up on some decent rain totals during this time…

Here are your radars to track the storm action developing to our northwest…

Temps will be awesome behind this system and that carries us through the week and into the weekend. Lows will drop deep into the 50s on a few occasions. I’m wondering if we can get a Kentucky Mesonet site all the way down to 50 degrees? That’s possible.

Given the pattern I’m seeing, the tropics are likely to become very active once again. Don’t be surprised if one of these systems isn’t threatening the Gulf or the southeast over the next week or two…

You can see the models are really jumping on this action, but offer different solutions…
