Good afternoon, everyone. Our blast of late October air arrived in grand fashion earlier today as it was introduced by a wind-driven rain. This chill of an early fall is settling in for the long haul as we wait on another fall front to arrive over the weekend.

Let’s kick this update off with what’s going on out there right now. Low pressure continues to wrap up just to our north and is throwing some wraparound showers and clouds behind it into our region. Here are your radars to follow along…

That’s actually a wintertime setup showing up here at the end of September. You get this same type of system in November or later, then you’re talking about some fun and games.

Chilly northwest winds continue to usher in colder air through the evening and readings by morning are the coldest of the young fall season. Areas with clear skies drop deep into the 40s while those with clouds hang around 50. The Hi Res NAM shows some low 40s in the west…

Check out the wind chills for Thursday morning…

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Highs Thursday reach the upper 50s to low 60s in the north and 60-65 elsewhere. This sets the stage for a very chilly Friday morning with many areas in the 40-45 degree range…

Can some upper 30s show up in the coldest valleys? I can’t rule it out. 🥶

Friday looks amazing as we get set for the next front to drop in early Saturday. This will bring a broken line of gusty showers with it…

This just reinforces the fall chill through the rest of the weekend and we will likely see another system digging in next week.

It’s fall, y’all!

We will take a longer range look ahead with tonight’s update and some winter talk is coming over the next several days.

Make it a good rest of the day and take care.
