Good evening, folks. A clipper is bringing some light snow to parts of the state, but this is zipping through here and not really amounting to much. This continues to be part of a super cold pattern that will feature more winter weather threats over the next few weeks. Threats that won’t show themselves very far out.

As expected, today’s light snow is mainly impacting areas of northern and eastern Kentucky. Some very light accumulations are showing up from this hit and run band. We will also fire up a few snow showers across the east as a bit of a northwest wind kicks in.

Here are your radars to follow along…

Seasonably cold air is with us for Monday as another system drops in from the northwest. This may touch off a band of light snow and flurries into Tuesday, but it’s not a big deal. It will usher in another round of arctic air for the middle of the week and single digit lows may be noted by Thursday morning.

That’s when our attention turns toward the next system working in here. Is this another simple shot of arctic air with some flakes ahead of it or are we looking at some kind of phased system across the east? This will be the question of the week.

The Canadian is most enthusiastic about a bigger storm…
