Good Sunday to one and all. Better weather is slowly taking over today, but another big storm system is on the way for the week ahead. That brings the chance for strong storms before a rather gloomy looking few days of weather as a slow-moving system works into town.
Clouds will slowly clear from west to east today with a few showers even possible early this morning in the east. Temps rebound into the upper 50s to middle 60s.
Monday continues to look like the best weather day of the next week or so. Partly sunny skies will be with us as temps head toward 70 in many areas.
A potent storm system then slowly works across the Plains and into the Mississippi Valley. This will bring rounds of showers and thunderstorms to our region from late Tuesday through, at least, early Thursday.
Watch how slowly this thing moves…
Some strong storms and heavy rains will be possible, especially Tuesday and Wednesday.
The slow movement comes from a big upper level system that’s cut off from the main flow. That leaves it to meander around the area through the end of next week…
Check out that blocking upper low out in the North-Atlantic. That forces everything behind it to slow down and may have a reinforcing shot of cold coming in behind it late next weekend or early into the following week. The EURO is going with a shot of big time colder than normal with that…
As we inch closer to April, the seasonal models continue to paint a chillier than normal and wetter than normal month.
The EURO Weeklies are warm biased but are showing below normal temps…
It also shows above normal precipitation…
The Control Run of the EURO Weeklies take the chill and the precipitation anomalies to the extreme…
That’s essentially forecasting a spring similar to the one we had last year. No thanks!
Have a good one and take care.
It’s looking like Mississippi and Alabama are in line for some serious severe weather next Tuesday. Wouldn’t surprise me to see a Moderate or even a High chance for severe storms. Could be one of the rare PDS situations!
I an NOT looking forward to another chilly/wet Spring; this New Normal is for the birds…
Saturday Morning there were Reports of F1 Tornadoes just to My North. Moderate Damage was also Noted to Homes and Trees.
We need A Good Soaking Rain here in North Taylor County As for the Month of March we Have Recorded only 1.88 Inches.
Hoping the prediction for Heavy Rains Tuesday Night/ Wednesday Pan Out, but the Ventusky is Only Predicting A few Hundreds of An Inch. More Wind than Rain For Maple.
An Outbreak of Severe Weather to Our South May prevent Gulf Moisture from Moving North into the Ohio Valley ?
La Nina looks to Continue On for Sometime To Come. Is This Our Climate Change ? In My Opinion I believe we Will Return to ENSO-Neutral to A Weak El Nino with A Positive Pacific Decade Oscillation In the Next Few Years.
We don’t need all this rain.
