Good Thursday, folks. It’s a windy and cooler day with much colder air set to sweep in here over the next several days. This blast of cold will be accompanied by a few flurries and snow showers over the weekend, at least. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Ok, let’s get started with what’s going on today then roll forward.

Highs are mainly in the 50s with gusty winds. Morning sun will be replaced by clouds and a few showers going up. With cold air aloft, there’s the chance for some thunder and I can’t rule out some small soft hail.

Here are your radars for the day…

Temps continue to drop even more for Friday with many areas staying in the 40s. Gusty winds will be accompanied by scattered showers.

That sets the stage for a system to drop in from the northwest Friday night and Saturday. This will bring rain and snow showers in here with the greatest threat for flakes being in central and eastern Kentucky.

The models show the flake potential…

Temps for Saturday may struggle to get into the low 40s for some. Winds make it feel like the 30s much of the day with a wind chill reaching close to 20 degrees by Sunday morning…

Milder air then tries to fight in early next week and in doing so may fire off some rain and wet snow ahead of it on Monday…

That’s being pushed by much milder air that does try to take control by the middle and end of next week. Check out the mega-temp gradient showing up on Wednesday…

Whoa.

That would be ahead a potential slow-moving system arriving later in the week…

The slower that is, the milder it can get in front of it. Of course, the slower it is also spells a slower departure time once it does move in here. That spells below normal temps and the potential for quite a bit of wet weather. Here’s hoping it’s only wet weather.

Enjoy the day and take care.
