Good Wednesday to one and all. Showers and thunderstorms increase across the Commonwealth today and this will likely cause additional flooding issues to develop. There’s finally some good news showing up in the forecast as a blast of September shows up around here for the upcoming weekend. Woot!
Heavy rain is likely across the state today with another 1″-3″ possible for some areas. This would be enough to cause flash flood issues to develop through the evening hours. For this reason, central and eastern Kentucky are under a Flood Watch today…
Here are your radars to follow the threat for flooding…
Absolutely awesome weather blows in later Thursday with a taste of late September taking hold for a while. Friday and Saturday look amazing with highs in the 70s and lows dropping deep into the 50s over the weekend. Can we squeeze out a 49 or 50 Saturday morning? Maybe.
Both of those days are dry, but that dry weather likely ends on Sunday as systems drop in from the northwest. Showers and a few storms will increase during this time and may hang around into next week…
This unsettled pattern will also keep the cool temp setup with us through next week. The models are all on board with a deepening trough across our part of the world…

Maybe we can talk Mother Nature into locking in a trough for the fall and winter? ❄❄😎
Have a great Wednesday and take care.
we had a decent thunderstorm at my house last night…torrential rain/wind/thunder. But not overly scary…That’s the type of storms I like…where you don’t feel in danger.
Yesterday was partly Sunny, hot and humid with a high around 90 followed by a very quiet night. I am sure some areas received rain / showers as heavy rain was in the local forecast along with a flash flood watch. Always that chance that a cloud burst may happen in any given area.
Mother Nature will always provide for what’s good for the Earth despite what weather type we wish for.
