Good Friday evening. Arctic cold temps continue to across the commonwealth and we have another frigid night ahead. While the cold is the star of the evening, the snow takes center stage over the weekend.
Let the pictures do the talking…
That is for everything that falls from late tonight through Sunday.
Make it a great evening and take care.
Thanks Chris! Hope we get about 4 inches here in Lex.
More sledding!!!! Yay!!!!
yes!!!(:
Temp already down to 15 in Lawrenceburg with clear skies. NWS forecast low was 16. Guess that one has already busted!
2 to 4 inches in Lexington.
wow!
First time checking the blog today and the last I heard was an inch. So hopefully this will be an overachiever! Last nights mini-blizzard was not so (Mini) while it was going on. That was just insane!
The temp forecast for tonight might stay where it is now due to clouds moving in? I don’t know. Just a guess.
Now down to 13! And dropping fast!
Waiting to hear BubbaG prognosticate…..about the super bowl! 😀
Ravens by 7 🙂
CB’s call seems good. As stated before, snow tends to beget snow with back to backers. If the first one hits, the second should as well. Opposite result if not (as we saw many times).
STRANGE –
I’ve seen this blog explode with comments with the prospect of a storm coming up, however, it’s relatively silent. What’s up with that?
May be afraid of a jinx
tired of let down after let down
BEWARE THE ELUSIVE SNOWSWATH! LOL 😉
Newman!…
Hoping it’s closer to the 4 inch than the 2 inch for Central Kentuckians like myself! It should would be nice to have a “blanket” of snow on the ground to look at rather than just a dusting or so 🙂
Anybody know an hourly estimate of when it is supposed to start snowing tonight?
Rolo bert the 49ers 3.5 its easy money,, easiest SUPER BOWL bet in years for me..
49ers best offensive line in a decade or longer, to much pressure on RAVENS defense over a 4q game. 49ers 27- Ravens 13
I hope you have not bet any of your goats on that bet 😉
Radar look interesting in central Missouri, I wonder if the precip will try to fill up more south.
Like their motto: Show me. 😉
Not impressed here in Somerset, Bring on Spring!!!
What are you complaining about? It has been snowier and colder than last winter over much of Central/Eastern KY through Feb1. Go cry in your own backyard. I’m pleased with this “blast of winter”.
What are we complaining about? You seem to forget that many of people has already picked up snow in central, western, and northern Kentucky where SE and SC Ky finally seen their 1st snow last night! A whole 1″ maybe 2″ in places. Which is still a lot less than the areas listed above has seen this season. So yes, We down here would love to actually see a winter or winter be gone and say hello to spring. I wish we down here in this area has been as blessed as you with already having more snow than last winter. Enjoy the 2 or 3 systems you have had and we will enjoy the little 1″er we had over night! (for the first time this season). I can see getting upset with someone who has had snow already, but good grief Charlie Brown, back down from us that seen the first snow yesterday!
some of us are still waiting
Andy? You didn’t get snow covered last night? The 1″ we got was sure perty but more would have been better. Hope you all get loaded tomorrow then! 🙂
had heavier frosts town got slightly more
Why are you attacking him? He didnt say anything wrong. People that attack others should be banned on here.
I recon I should be banned along with over 75% of the folks in here. I wasn’t bashing, I just letting him know we had our 1st snow of the season last night and we aint complaining but wishing for more or spring. I do not think however I should have to explain anything to you!
Sorry I didn’t mean bashing. I am being accused of attacking! WOW is all I can say.
I think barb referred to Chris M, since here reply appears linked to his comment. Hard to tell, due to the constrained design of the typing space in the blog. TOO NARROW!
I don’t think the Boss would appreciate that demeanor 😉
One person’s snow is another’s miss. Last winter sucked and this one has not breached 2″ for most folks so far.
Everything is relative. Word.
Joseph, I so totally agree with you. I am far from being impressed about tomorrows snow forecast. Maybe next winter, we in the part of the state will be the winner while other areas will be domed over. Afterall, wouldn’t it be nice if we too can BRAG about the snows we have already had….1″ wow 🙁
Not sure what got into Chris M. Perhaps he is a 49ers fan and knows they are going to lose by 7 on Sunday 🙂
Today is the day I wait for every fall when we go back to standard time. Sunset 6:01 p.m. 🙂
Thanks Chris!
Thanks Chris 3-5 yay!!!!!!!!!!
Me thinks all the negativity has driven folks away from the blog. Shame actually.
The row space is too narrow for this blog CB. Folks start posting and hard to keep track. The character width of each row should be twice as wide so easier to keep track of threads. Just sayin’.
As far as the snow so far, I can see people both liking it and those that loath it. The half empty side will say yep, it snowed, but just a small amount and there is more salt really than snow in the way.
The half full side say it is better than nothing. For me, I HATE salt crusted on my car and when I jog on roads for the little snow so far. No fun in the snow, since not enough on the ground. I guess I am a “half emptier” then, but appreciate the half fullers 🙂
Nothing for Bowling Green again?! Apparently I can drive 10 miles NE of the city and get 1″-2″…blah!
Lets hope for a couple of over achieving clippers……If we can get some snowpack it will increase are chances at getting a bigger storm in a couple weeks.
Bring on the snow, 2 or 3 more inches and Frankfort will be near 10 inches for the winter, Don’t hate 😉
It will be interesting to see what falls where…I think this is the first time all winter that Wave3 (BG/KH) has a different forecast than CB and the NWS. Wave3 is saying 1-2 tops with only 2-3″ near Cincy and points north and east. No mention of anything over 3″ in Kentucky, though. They are also saying less than an inch west of I-65, whereas CB has 1-2″. NWS is almost identical to CB. Maybe KH just doesn’t see much being squeezed out of this clipper. He really hasn’t been into Winter this year, anyway lol.
Since Belski left wave 3 pretty weak on weather coverage, they always lean toward the warmer solutions and down play snow chances, Kind of like The weather Channel!
I do enjoy BG…he has very informative blogs. But, yes, the rest except maybe Lauren, all seem to enjoy tracking spring storms over winter ones. KH just seems bored with snow anymore. We all miss Belski, no doubt.
Belski was tops! But, I do like WAVE3. I’m old enough to say I liked Wills too!
Tom Wills “Little or No Accumulation Blues” Anybody know what he is doing these days.
He just disappeared! Where is Belski? His blog seems inactive…
Snow is officially falling in McKee ky
