Good Wednesday to one and all. It’s absolutely awesome out there today and this holds strong for one more day before we change it up in a big way. Our weekend weather looks to take a walk on the wild side with a lot of ugly weather pushing in.
Temps today and Thursday reach the upper 70s to low 80s with mostly sunny skies. You should definitely get out there and enjoy it!
The chance for scattered showers and storms moves into western Kentucky Thursday night then into the rest of the state for Friday. Again, this stuff looks fairly scattered for everyone but the west.
The front responsible for the storms slows down on top of us and that allows for low pressure to roll right on top of us Saturday. Heavy rain, some thunderstorms, gusty winds and crashing temps make up your Saturday. Cold winds with a few lingering showers take us into Sunday…
The models are spitting out some hefty rain numbers across western Kentucky into parts of central Kentucky…
As far as the temps go, the numbers drop into the low and middle 40s from west to east Saturday. Highs for Sunday may not get out of the 40s across central and eastern Kentucky…
If clouds stay way, temps will be in the low 50s for those areas.😁
As skies clean up Sunday night, a freeze is possible with temps dropping toward the upper 20s…
Another storm system looks to roll through here by late Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. That brings more rounds of showers and some thunder…
The EURO is impressed with the heavy rain potential over the next 10 days…
Make it a wonderful Wednesday and take care.
Thanks Chris. Yesterday was beautiful, with lots of Sunshine and low humidity. That’s the good news. The bad news is that we are under a ‘ Fire Watch today ‘ through tomorrow, and if it doesn’t rain soon we will be in a ‘ Red Flag Warning. ‘ I hoping the models are right on those rain totals ?
I’m glad to see rain in the forecast but I dislike seeing the possibility of a hard freeze.
I would be very surprised if there was a hard freeze. More concerned about the lack of rain.
I responded to your comment but the PPF bit me in the rump again. I am a lazy proofreader.
Looks like Chris would have all comments that are within reason posted. Typing gra#s$ s this way is ridiculous.
Red Flag Warning until 8:00 PM EDT for all of Central and Eastern Kentucky.
That’s 8:00 pm EDT Thursday…
I’ve been reading quite a few articles about the ENSO. Alot of talk about a “super” EL NINO possibly developing by late fall. Amazing how nature can change things in a blink of a eye if it happens.
A warm front is currently bisecting the Chicago area, with temps in the 50s to the north of the front to near 80 south of the front. A cluster of strong thunderstorms with large hail has developed along the front in the last hour and a half over the W and SW Suburbs, with several Severe Thunderstorm Warnings having been issued.
In my area, there was some pea-sized hail that fell along with heavy rain and gusty winds.
Mike what’s the most snow you have had this winter? Are you like the rest of us and hardly any has fallen??
The Chicago area, like Kentucky, was much below normal with snowfall, Crystal. Chicago’s O’Hare Airport received only 20.1 inches for the season, and the SW Suburbs where I’m located received only 16.1 inches. Normal for the area is around 38 inches for a season.
The heaviest snowfall we received was only 2 1/2 inches just before Christmas when that bitterly cold Arctic front moved through the Midwest.
Wow
