Good evening, folks. I wanted to drop by for a quick update on the forecast as we get closer to Kentucky Derby Weekend. We know the month is starting out cold and windy, but the concern is for some storms for part of the big weekend.
Gusty showers are out there this evening, especially across the northern half of the state. Here are your radars to follow the ugly evening…
Another shot of showers will be noted in the north and northeast on Tuesday as those cold winds continue. By the time we hit Wednesday, things turn better from west to east and this looks to take us into Thurby.
Kentucky Oaks Day could see some issues because of the threat for scattered showers and thunderstorms. The GFS brings this action in and keeps it going into early on Derby Day before moving it out of town before the big race…
Temps look to be in the low 70s for Derby Day and should climb from there. The setup for next week looks warm and stormy…
Enjoy the rest of the evening and take care.
The “cold” is underwhelming to me and will soon be gone. I’ll take a few storms if it means 70s are back. 🙂
