Good Friday, folks. We have a heck of a weather day taking shape across the commonwealth. Let’s make sure to get out and enjoy it, because the ugly stuff is coming back this weekend. That trend continues to show up in the long range out look as spring is AWOL.
Sunny skies will be noted across the state today as southwesterly winds gust up. This will boost temps into the 60s for most areas and give us the nicest day for quite a while.
A cold front rolls into the Ohio Valley later tonight and this boundary stalls out for a few days. A couple of waves of low pressure will develop and roll eastward, giving us rounds of showers. That will set the stage for a strong cold front to blow through here late Monday. Check out the rainfall forecast during this time…
Wild temp swings will be noted during this time. We start Saturday in the 50s then drop later in the day as the front slides in. Saint Patrick’s Day Sunday will feature a lot of green… on radar. Rain will be widespread as temps stay in the chilly 40s for highs. Monday will see thermometers head back into the 50s to near 60 as showers and storms rumble through.
That will set the stage for another much colder than normal period…
That flat out stinks and the overall pattern shows more of the same for the rest of the month…
Again… enjoy today. Take care.
Average temp at Lexington so far this month is 38.0. December averaged 41.8
Average March highs (Knox) actually running right about the same as January, a little bit cooler than February, and much colder than December. The misery continues. I’m ready for spring.
Yuck!! About sums it up..
Any accumulating snows forthcoming this month?
Yea NEXT WEEK
Was going to say that, but Jeff H. would have something to say about the Next Week statement. Bring on spring and storms….
When you have something more mature to say, then you may respond to me. 😉
going to be a real severe threat here monday
It’s march bout par for the course.a good month to sit inside watch basketball.outside stuff can wait till April
Temps approaching 70 already in south west KY, spread the love please, clouds and temps low 50’s in Central KY?
Well if this was snow we get a solid 20 inches.
With all the models and their trends, I wouldn’t doubt seeing snow at the end of this month into April knowing that the NSW CPC outlook has WELL BELOW NORMAL temps and above averege precipitation.
Looking like we have a torcon 4 here Monday, keep us updated please Chris! Thanks
March weather as ugly as the cats anybody agree
Hey Chris…I have a comet question……can we still see it and if so…where do we look at in the sky to spot it?
OH, please no, not a Torcon here, not at all!
