Good Thursday and Happy Thanksgiving! Here’s hoping this update finding each of you enjoying this holiday to the absolute fullest. If you’re in a rough patch with life, hang in there because it WILL get better. I’m thankful for you guys and all you’ve done for me through the years. KWC is a thing because of you!
The weather on this Thanksgiving is pretty ugly with misty showers, low clouds and chilly temps. Colder winds then sweep in here tonight with a few flakes showing up. A northwest wind into the first half of Black Friday is going to squeeze out a few flurries and snow showers across central and eastern Kentucky.
The future radar from the Hi Res NAM shows this touch of winter weather well…
Can someone get lucky with some hit and run slush on a rooftop?
Wind chills for Black Friday are way down there. Wind chills will be in the teens to start the day and to end the day. Check out the animation that goes from 7am through 11pm Friday…
The stage is set for a light snowfall zipping across the region late Saturday into early Sunday. I’ve made no changes to the area that has the best chance of picking up on another light snowfall…
The chance is there for a swath of an inch or two showing up during this time. I fully expect this to be an Advisory type event.
The models are slowly coming into focus with the system we’ve been talking about for several days now.
The Canadian has a swath of 1″-2″ snows…
The EURO has something similar…
The GFS lost it and is now finding it again…
Arctic air comes in behind this Sunday into Sunday night. Watch those wind chills tank as the light snow moves away. This animation goes from 7am Sunday through 7am Monday…
We will need to watch for another flake maker Monday or Tuesday as wind chills stay frozen…
I’ll drop by for another update later today so check back. As always, I leave you with your tracking tools for the day…
Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving… Take care.
Thanks Chris for all you do! Everyone have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!
