Good evening, folks. Wet weather is the theme of the forecast for the next few days, but we are looking toward a colder and more wintry setup later in the week and into the lead up to Christmas. Can we get some snow on the ground before then? Maybe.

I wanted to drop by for a super quick update as we roll into the week ahead.

We know we have two big rainmakers coming in over the next few days. The first arrives Monday into Monday night then the next system brings heavy rain with it Tuesday night and Wednesday. A general 1″-2″ of additional rains are likely with locally higher amounts.

The system moving through Wednesday has much colder air coming in behind it. Can that cold air catch the backside of the departing rain shield and deliver some flakes by Wednesday night or early Thursday.

The trends as we get closer aren’t very optimistic that can happen, but the latest future radar from the NAM that ends on Wednesday night does show some light snow and flurries…

The cold coming behind that is seasonable with much colder air arriving behind a system on Friday. That can bring some light snow or snow showers with it with the potential for another light snow or snow shower maker to dive in right behind it Friday night and Saturday.

The GFS is still pretty progressive and that’s a bias of the model, but it is starting to see that light snow streak behind the Friday clipper…

The late day run of the EURO only goes out to Saturday afternoon but it’s also seeing that light snow streaking at us…

How this plays out is still a work in progress, but I do think the odds are pretty good of, at least, seeing some festive flakes for the weekend before Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas, the EURO AI is also seeing that chance for a light snow maker Christmas Eve and Day…

I leave you with your tracking tools for the rest of the day…

Have a great evening and take care.
