Good evening, everyone. It took a bit to get going, but our latest winter storm is finishing strong with heavy snow continuing across central and eastern Kentucky. This is putting down several inches of snow and creating dangerous travel, but this will start to wind down from west to east.

Winter Storm Warnings continue for many areas but these will be pulled back as the heaviest snows taper in the west…

Light snow is likely early Saturday morning with snow showers behind that for much of central and eastern Kentucky. The Future Radar from the Hi Res NAM from midnight to 1pm Saturday shows this well…

From there, we catch a break on Sunday before a couple fo arctic fronts move in with light snows Monday through Wednesday. Brutally cold temps are likely behind this. The numbers are crazy cold and well below normal…

Wind chills go well below zero. This animation goes from Monday evening through Thursday morning…

We catch a brief break late next week into the start of next weekend, but another harsh winter pattern settles in after that. We will likely see a winter storm threat or two during this time with temps that can be even colder than this coming week.

Look how far below normal these numbers are…

That’s stupid cold, folks.

I’ll have the latest on this current winter storm coming up tonight on WKYT so tune in. I’ll go more in depth on the upcoming pattern with the full KWC update later tonight. Until then, I have your winter storm tracking tools including our Kentucky Weather Cams to watch the snows flying across the state…

Have a fantastic Friday evening and take care.
