Good Sunday to one and all. Snow and bitterly cold temps are taking control of our weather today as we go back into a harsh winter weather setup. This is complete with several inches of snow for some and brutal cold for everyone.
Here’s a recap of the setup for the next few days:
- Snow develops from southwest to northeast early today.
- A few to several inches of snow will be possible across central and eastern Kentucky. Lighter amounts show up along and west of Interstate 65.
- As the steady snows exit the east late Sunday afternoon, snow showers and squalls kick in from the northwest.
- Winds will be gusty Sunday into Sunday night, and we may even see some blowing snow.
- This will be a high impact travel event, even for areas only getting in on coatings of snow.
- Temps absolutely tank late Sunday into Sunday night and will be near 0 by Monday morning.
- Wind chills will be in the danger category and can reach -10 to -15 during this time.
- Brutally cold temps last through Wednesday with lows that can reach 0 or below and wind chills at -10 or colder at times.

Have a great Sunday and take care.
So far all we have had is a cold rain and at times spitting snow as my Grandmother use to say. We were suppose to get the worst but it hasn’t happened. Maybe it’s still to come.
Crystal, once that cold air filters in, you should see a changeover to all snow. Here in BG, anything we receive can be handled by a broom!
That cold means business, and could spell trouble for homes that have pipes prone to freezing. Leaving them on a steady drip overnight may be necessary.
