Good Wednesday, everyone. Wow is the weather word of the day and this time it’s in a good way. We have a blast of early October air on tap over the next few days and this may cause record lows fall. That’s right… it’s the middle of August and we are talking about possible record low temps.
Here’s the break down of the next few days…
– Today will start with readings dropping toward the 50 degree mark in many areas. This will be within record range at a few sites.
– Highs this afternoon will only reach 70-75 for most areas under sunny skies with low humidity levels.
– Thursday morning will be downright chilly. A lot of temps will drop into the mid and upper 40s and that’s when we have the best chance for records to fall.
– Thursday afternoon will see temps back in the 70s with bit of high clouds streaming in.
We aren’t the only one dealing with the October air. Take a look at the forecast lows from the GFS…
The good times won’t last for long as moisture begins to return by Friday. That will lead to more clouds and the chance for a few showers or thunderstorms going up by the afternoon. The NAM Future Radar shows this action…
A scattering of showers and storms will be around this weekend as moisture from the Gulf continues to increase. There’s the possibility of something tropical trying to develop down there and we will keep an eye on that. The GFS Rainfall forecast through Monday shows whatever is down there rolling northward…
The Canadian Model is trying to come up with a similar evolution…
As always, love the blog! Still looking for those winter “hints”! Have a great day!
MORE rain?!? Really? I have a feeling that this is going to be a cold, wet fall.
Absolutely beautiful today.
Free AC, love it while it last!
Chris:
Looks like the ASOS at Lexington malfunctioned again today. It is reporting a high of 78 around the Noon hour. Wonder if that will be corrected in the climate report! 🙂
It was!
Perfect day here in VA also. It was 74 at lunchtime!!!! Looking forward to the mid 50s tonight. Accuweather states that our fall will be kinda warmish with lots of rain:( Hope they’re wrong!
