Good Friday afternoon. Showers continue to roll across the state today and this action will become much more widespread overnight into Saturday. Thunderstorms will begin to develop during this time and the potential is there for strong or severe storms.

The Storm Prediction Center has place much of central and western Kentucky in the slight risk area…

Damaging winds will be the primary threat with isolated tornadoes possible… especially in the far west. Heavy rainfall will also be a major concern across the same areas I’ve been highlighting, so keep a close eye on the waterways.

Gusty winds of 40mph or higher will be possible for many… even without thunderstorms. Temps tomorrow may hit 70 in some spots.

It all comes crashing down behind the cold front late Sunday into early Monday. Some models are still trying to develop a wave of low pressure along this boundary to our east. Here’s the NAM…

The Canadian Model is trying to do this as well…

A secondary push of even colder air will swing in later Monday with some snow showers and flurries. Those may continue into Christmas Eve with highs in the 20s with gusty winds.

I’m also still keeping my eye on the possibilities behind that for the day after Christmas…

Canadian 2A LOT of winter is ahead, my friends.

Take care.
