Good Monday afternoon, gang. A disturbance working into the state tonight and Tuesday morning is likely to touch off a period of light snow and flurries. This probably won’t amount to much, but the timing on this will certainly add to the Christmas season.
The short range models are picking up on the overnight action. Here’s the RPM simulated radar…
That’s likely a narrow ribbon for some, with a lot of flurries for many…
Tuesday continues to look frigid as we await the arrive of the next disturbance by Christmas Morning. This simulated radar from the hi-res NAM shows a diminishing band of light snow and flurries working in…
Farther down the road… look at what arrives later Sunday into Monday…
Another update comes your way this evening. Take care.
Thanks Chris
Even a deck duster would be nice for Christmas, thanks Chris!
Chris thanks for the update…..always nice to see cold and some sort of white falling from the sky. Looks like the blowtorch is on its way……………to South America…
Yup funny how Bryant is nowhere to be found. Bryant,Bryant…… And Crickets.
Bryant if it matters the blow torch will be in full effect in June July August and maybe early September hope that helps.;-)
As I’ve said, I would love to be wrong. Even if I’m way off on my prediction for warmth, we still have the second half of January, and I did call for trace amounts of snow for the area. Disagree with the idea of warmth, but January looks to go really quiet
Troll.
what is so funny on here, Chris makes a prediction far out, like a month away, and if he is wrong … then you say “well, it was just his opinion” and if he is right or partially right, then he walks on water; But then this guy Bryant just gives an opinion and look how the wannebe’s bash him over it ……. shame shame When we all stand on judgement day I sure hope I am nowhere near you all !!!
Sounds like you are Bryant???
nope … far from it …. just a lady who also has opinions.
Chris is a actual Trained professional meteorologist, big difference, like you say everyone else is a opinionated thought not a educated forecast!
Bryant wasn’t giving his opinion he was posting what another hack meteorologists had put on their forum and swore it to be the Bible. That is why he was bashed.
No worries Summer, as you’ll see, most of these guys hang on to every ridiculous long range modeling or forecast of epic cold and snow. Then the said group bellyaches like kids when the inevitable warmth wins out. It’s also the same group who would criticize MJ, who is a trained meteorologist with the NWS. Wonder why MJ no longer posts here? And let’s not forget WXMan, who supposedly was banned, but in my years of following the blog, I can never remember him being disrespectful of CB. Yes he disagreed with most of the winter forecasting, but he was criticized along with MJ and the rest of the evil NWS. The rules here are to give your wx observations, yell Go Cats and maybe a bit of mild complaining.
Bryant now you are just being a horse’s rear end. Quit the lying and drama.
Jeff, you attack anyone who doesn’t fit your mode of thinking. And it’s not just me.
What you call an opinion is in reality false witness.
The difference between CB and Bryant is CB doesn’t hide when he is wrong. Bryant does, CB backs and explains what he is thinking. Bryant goes by what his apparently unreliable forecast brethren think. I cannot recall anyone saying a blowtorch was going to occur until in January until Bryant showed up. I asked him to backup his theory his response was just wait and see the blowtorch will be here before you know it. Great logic there, that’s like putting sour milk in the refrigerator and 2 hours later acting like its fresh again.
nobody can say anything on here if you don’t go along with you all ….. you just simply say I wish it was warm and POOF, you automatically the enemy and get bashed and attacked on everything ….. I hope he’s right just to shut the wannabe’s up and I would love to hear what you all say if it did come true – probably still something negative about it.
What’s really funny, I would love to report that I have a foot of snow on the ground next month. Could it happen? I suppose. But I’m banking on the idea that it won’t
Bryant your banking on a idea of a average statewide temp of 57 degrees for the month in January. That’s unheard of even for Kentucky. Way to many factors saying that’s pretty much NOT going to happen. I think your shot of a average high temp statewide of 57 degrees is further off then KY getting a foot of snow.
I don’t offer my personal thoughts on here often, although I have been a KY Weather Center follower since it’s launch date. Opinions concerning the weather are great, that’s why we blog. Antagonism on the other hand is pointless and makes for a really bad experience. The individual posting as the user “Bryant” is an obvious antagonist to those of us who enjoy reading and learning about the weather on this site. Make your point and move along. There are professionals who frequent Chris’ site for relevant weather information and life safety information. Wading through all the muck is disappointing.
gosh jeff hamlet, you really got me there !! btw, your mommy said dinner was ready, better go eat there little buddy !!
No credible argument from you so you resort to infantile bloviating. Ha……
Impressive cold for tomorrow with no snowpack. It is hard to get a high down into the lower 20’s without snow on the ground. I would dare say if we had snow, the high might not have made it out of the mid teens. Hoping for a little deck duster for Christmas!
Flurries or snow showers…..I will take anything we can get like that for Christmas! Still want a good one, but that would be nice….
The posting content so far is pure gold! Keep em’ commin’ 🙂

Good to see some ol’ Christmas Cheer alive and well on here. Sadly, this is sometimes my best entertainment source of the day. Much funnier than trying to navigate home tonight from my office behind Lexington Green.
He started it!!! lol
