Good Sunday everyone and thanks for dropping in on the blog. The weather out there on Saturday was nothing short of awesome and today shouldn’t be much different as sunshine and temps back into the 70s give us another round of weather greatness. ![]()
The question of the day is… how cool with the morning lows be? Everyone should see the first 40s of the season and we will have to see how low the numbers can go. The good folks at Kentucky Mesonet have you covered in doing just that…

Some areas can approach record readings for this date… actually breaking them may be a different story. ![]()
Labor day will see temps returning to the 80s under mainly sunny skies. Overall… this should be another very pleasant feeling day for the cookouts and maybe a final dip in the pool.
The pattern for next week is a warm one and will see temps mainly in the 80s for highs. A weak front will approach from the northwest later Wednesday and will being a chance for some scattered showers or storms our way. Temps during this time should come down a few degrees.
Our next best chance for showers and thunderstorms looks to be for next weekend. You can see it here on the GFS…

Earl has gone on to hurricane heaven but the Atlantic is still full of wannabe storms and we should see a few more names over the next week. Here is what it looks like out there right now…

On a side note… I hope none of the Louisville fans took my post too seriously Yesterday… it was all in good fun. Smile… you will live longer because of it. ![]()
Have a great Sunday and take care.
I’m a wildcat fan through and through, but I found that post very immature and unprofessional. It’s sad when you let sports rule a weather blog.
But why not???????????
There’s absolutely NOTHING going on in the weather world locally! BORE YAWN CITY!
So might as well talk about sports!
The world we live in is so easily offended
I couldn’t agree more somebody will be offended that you typed words in all caps
Do us all a favor and jump in a lake. Your post reeks of sour grapes. Get the stick out, buddy.
Really? As has been emphasized repeatedly, this is Chis’ blog, and he can talk about the price of tea in China if he so chooses, whether you find it to be “professional” or not. If you don’t like what he has to say, there are countless other blogs for your reading pleasure…
On a weather related note, this morning really got me in the fall mood – it dropped to a chilly 43 degrees at my house in Jessamine, and I’m sure there were a few upper 30’s in isolated areas. Quite a welcome change from the weather that has dominated this summer!
I wonder if that powerful high will continue to eliminate precipitation chances for kentucky this weekend and beyond.
This weather is spectacular and I had to dig out a sweater this morning. I do hope we get some rain around here soon, though. I can’t remember the last time it rained in Bourbon County. My yard is a dusty disaster. We’ve got guests coming to town for WEG and right now the Bluegrass is very brown. 🙁
I didn’t take much offense to the post until the “inferiority complex” remark. No big deal, didn’t ruin my day, and certainly didn’t lose a minute of sleep, but had to wonder why the trash talking went that far.
I don’t think any of it was meant in malice, I think it was meant as good-natured ribbing…
Up until that last comment, yeah, it was all in fun. I may shake my head at the anti UofL comments, but at least I agree with CB’s pro Reds &Bengals stance. So he’s not all bad…LOL.
I hope not!!!!!!
The way the cycles have been going this year have just been freaky…..I think we went a lot of feb and march with hardly any precip…VERY DRY…….Then we got bombarded with rain…….Now very dry again…..So a high pressure just sitting there is not what I wanna hear. Let the thing sit in the plains, they don’t need rain.
These people need to get over themselves. It’s Chris’s blog and he can write whatever he wants. Besides, there was nothing in there that any GOOD trash-talking U of L fan wouldn’t say. If you want to whine, cry, and make false comments about his character, then don’t do it here!
I have to agree with Jeff………IF U of L HAD won, can you imagine the trash talking that would have been going on? Get a life people! It’s CHRIS’S BLOG and if you don’t like it you don’t have to come here to read it, no one has a gun to your head! YOU GO CHRIS and DON”T CHANGE A THING! You know WHO YOUR TRUE BACKERS are! 🙂
All I did was point out one comment that was not in good fun. If you guys are referring to me fine, but I’ve been following CB since the beginning (WKYT) blog. And don’t lecture me on being a true supporter. I was on here several times backing CB when the voice of reason (we all know who that is) was taking cowardly shots at CB over on his blog. Jeff, who was taking shots at CB’s character? If you are insinuating that I was, then you need to read and comprehend my comments better. Anyways, I’d bet dollars to donuts if the roles were reversed, you call out a comment that you did not think was fair or in good fun.
My son was VERY surprised when he stepped outside to get the newspaper for me this morning! He said, “Mom, it’s COLD out here!” I don’t think the heat came on in the house, though. What a nice warm up, though, and a very quick warm up once the sun rose.
NOPE! Go ahead and bet them dollars to donuts…..I respect that this is Chris’s blog, and I don’t have to like everything he posts, but it is HIS to do with what he wants. I don’t get offened that easily. I CHOOSE to read this and be a BIG fan of Chris’s. If I don’t like it, I just read on, don’t start anything over it.
Give me a break! It’s all in fun between two college rivals!
I sure wish a snow storm or something was coming so that people would have something else to talk about outside of a few good hearted comments…oh well.
i live in the huntington, wva area and the comment section on this blog is better than the wsaz blog is with cb. the kentucky-louisville rivalry is likened to the marshall-wva game that is played each year, you have to be able to take good ribbing if you are a true sports fan. so far i have seen nothing wrong with cb comments. my name is toney and i live in the town of wayne in the outskirts of huntington, wva. i come to this blog often because of the good natured comments by all the great kentucky bloggers(GO BIG BLUE) but i do bleed green for marshall university, but the other reason is usually our type of weather we get in huntington wva, kentucky usually recieves an hour or two before hand. thank for letting a thundering herd fan on a kentucky web site. my dream is marshall vs kentucky when i would have to say or holler WE ARE MARSHALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
