Good Thursday to one and all. Talk about a gorgeous day… we certainly have it going on out there today with sun and temps around 70 degrees. While it gets even warmer this weekend, some ugly stuff is rolling our way as we head into next week.
Sunshine will boost temps toward the low 70s for many areas today. You will notice some clouds filtering in from the northwest late today into this evening. That’s with a weak cold front moving in for Friday. This front will likely touch off scattered showers and thunderstorms from late Thursday night into the final day of the week.
That action looks to clear out for the weekend with thermometers making a run at 80…
There is a small chance for isolated storms during this time, but most of it looks to hold off into Monday. That’s when a strong cold front swings in with heavy rain and booming storms. Winds will be gusty as much colder air crashes in. Check this out…
That’s a below normal pattern for much of the country…
Have a great day and take care.
Storms tomorrow look less intense and more scattered.
Yup it appears that’s what Chris said scattered storms possible
A couple of SkyWarn c*l*a*s*s*e*s by NWS Louisville: Henry County KY this evening, later courses in Versailles KY and Louisville.

Ditto by NWS Paducah for Owensboro, Evansville IN and Paducah.

NWS Nashville has rescheduled the postponed April 3 Clarksville TN c*l*a*s*s for May 1 (I can’t insert the url because the Kentucky Weather Center automod will delete the entire post, so click SkyWarn via NWS Nashville homepage).

Ironic that the KWC automod accidently filters posts with innocent words. Yet the worst four letter word is allowed! It’s too terrible a word to post, but it’s a kind of frozen precip and it rhymes with “slow” 😉 .
That word will ALWAYS be allowed on this site! 😀
Yea, no hard feelings for all the snow fans. Despite me be a minority – a warm wx lover, I’m ok with a few brief snows that quickly melt. But most places around here got so much snow this season that even a few winter lovers were ready for spring. Yet here in Nashville I could have tolerated at least one nice moderate snow as we only got 1.6 inches since fall, way below normal.
Actually, an even worse word is i-c-e. At least not the freezing rain type. But it’s ok if in it’s your beverage 😛 .
PS: I earlier posted some more SkyWarn meetings but the automod flagged the post for CB’s approval; I perhaps included too many web links in one post (?).
My bad, go to the above NWS Nashville website and click “Spotter C*l*a*s*s*e*s”.
The URL that activates the KWC automod is:

Below normal days are becoming fewer and farther In between, and even below normal days are not that cold now! Loving it!
53 is the forecasted high for Tuesday in Cincinnati. Even that is starting to feel chilly now. I’m ready for 70’s on a consistent basis.
Agree!
Thanks Chris! This week has been a great week in a lot of ways. We are getting warmer temps and some sunshine, which I love, and I know everyone else is ready for as well. But I have to say that the best thing has been the birth of my second granddaughter early Tuesday morning…12:13 to be exact! (That even took the sting out of UK’s loss.) 😉
No matter what the weather, Chris, we know you will be here to keep us posted and informed. Appreciate you for everything you do! Everyone have a GREAT Friday Eve!
Congrats on the new arrival, Coffeelady! It’s kind of been the opposite for me, as a drama last year against a family member is finally being given some rightful closure this week. At least the family member is doing much better.
Hmm, I’ve heard grandparents joke that if they had known what a joy being a grandparent is, they would have had their grandkids first 🙂 . Oh well, guess it doesn’t work that way. But perhaps the better half (wife) and I will be the proud parents of a couple of future meteorologists before long, God willing!
